PL and JY ROM at The Chevrons

Finally, it was the day when we are going to be husband and wife. To be honest, it just felt like another event that I have to get through. I guess we were so used to each other that it doesn't occur to us that we will not be together. Even though there were some incidents that pissed me off a lot. We booked two chalets at The Chevrons, kindly assisted by my very very dear cousin (whom I had a crush on like ages ago! Like in P1? =P) This was the doorway to the chalet (and PL and WP were still in the midst of preparation!) And I was still doing stoopid moves like this while my dress was hanging at the inner balcony.  Can you imagine the vastness of this bedroom?!! It is super big! =D The setting up of the place itself Yvonne was helping to tame my hair down. The ROM itself! =D PL & JY ROM ceremony :) Too many pictures make my laptop hang. LOL. WE ARE OFFICIALLY MARRIED!

2 more days to ROM - epic incident

Seems like my life has taken an exciting turn recently. My FMIL is insisting that I am not part of the family yet because we are not doing the traditional tea ceremony. PL is quite pissed because he thinks that signing that document means that we are officially together for life. For me, I seriously don't care. What's all the big hoohaa about this traditional tea ceremony? Only crazy old folks believe in this kind of things. I don't really need her to recognise me as her DIL because I'm not looking at her money or whatever shit, even if she really have the moolah. We have been selecting the songs. I was a little sian because I hate this kind of events yet I am being forced to do them. I think I would do better if I can hide behind somewhere and be in my own little world, but no, I have to be forced out to do entertaining. Sibei sian. Okays, it's time to sleep and try to go for the CXWORX in the morning.

What to do at the Registery of Marriage SIngapore

PL and I took half day leave to go down to ROM for the collection of the ROM stuff. Things to note: The parking uncle is very hardworking. We kena summon due to not putting parking coupon. The appointment is like any other government agency. We still have to take a queue number and wait for around 45 mins despite having an appointment. You have to raise your right hand to make the statutory declaration.  (PL was quite amused by it and asked the officer if there was a CCTV to record it down.) There is also a supposed 15bucks admin fee if you decide to change your JP. We managed to get it waived off as the JP was the one who cannot make it. I think if I knew we had to wait so long,  I would have brought a book along to read @@

5 more days to ROM - An incident with JP Peter Kong from Ayer Rajah CC

Today was an interesting day. In the morning, PL got an SMS from Peter Kong, the JP that we looked for like close to 4 months ago, and he asked if we can push back our ROM timing to 6.30pm as he thinks that he may be late due to a medical appointment at Changi General Hospital. We panicked as we had already informed everyone that we will do the solemnisation at 6pm and all the food and everything has been arranged. In the end, we called up Ivan Ng from Clementi CC who was willing to perform the solemnisation for us at 6pm. One of the reason I didn't want to choose him at first was because it will lead to the whole Clementi area knowing that our big day is on Friday (but we have no choice now) PL was quite pissed as we have booked with Peter Kong quite a while ago and only now did he tell us that he has a medical appointment on the same day around the same timing. At first, when we wanted to meet up with him for a briefing for the actual day, he said that he can't make i...

Birth Control Pills - Microgynon 30

I'm officially one month into the birth control pills. One thing I love about this, it regulates my menses. Damn shiok to know when exactly it will come. One not very good thing about it - it gives me the headache when I go on and off the pills. I didn't feel it when I took it to delay my menses, but I felt it when I took it for a longer period of time. The afternoon period is always the time when I feel the headache the most, but it stopped after around a week. It's probably still getting used to the extra hormones that is being injected in, but so far, I'm quite happy with it. For now, I think I will just stick to this method until there is a better one (which does not require me to eat the pill at around the same time) >.< I have a tendency to forget about it. So far I have not registered any weight gain yet, and since I have been going to the gym quite frequently recently, my weight has been going down instead.

Happy V-day!

Thank you PL for organising such a wonderful night, and I really enjoyed myself. According to him, it was his first time giving a bouquet of flower bear or what you call it to a girl (I seriously have no idea what he gave his ex, and anyway, her loss is my profit [and happiness?]) and I'm not going to grumble about him spending money on it because it's probably going to be one in a lifetime kinda thing. He said he got it for me because I have not celebrated Valentine's Day before~ :D So our plan was like this: Eat dinner at Tiong Bahru's Eighteen Chefs Watch Wolf of Wall Street at Vivocity at 8.40pm. I guess it's a very typical V-day celebration but I am very touched. ^^ He just reminded me of this song~

Love and marriage before 28.6 years old

There are many people who expressed surprised that I'm engaged and getting married soon. WHY? Because the national average of females with tertiary education getting married in Singapore is 28.6 years, according to  Singstats . So, theoretically I am marrying too young. >.< I don't think I'm making a mistake. I love my soon-to-be-husband, despite all the idiotic things that he does. I admit that I'm not without my flaws either. Just today, I made him upset and disappointed because I overslept (a common occurrence) But, we forgive and made up, no matter how pissed we are at each other. Love is a funny thing. It makes you tolerate the very same things that you don't with other people. It may be mistaken for lust, or infatuation, but when you have seen the person at his very best (and worst), are you sure that is just pure lust? I'm sure cleaning up vomiting after your SO when he is drunk or sick isn't exactly what you signed up for when you fell in ...

How to decide on the itinerary on CNY for new couples/newlyweds

Chinese New Year is a time where you have to visit multiple families. When the couple has to visit both sides of the family on the limited two days that are public holidays, it really needs some planning. If not, be prepared for some quarrels. 1. Do up a schedule of how you and your partner usually spend your 1st and 2nd day of CNY, preferably a week before CNY itself. 2. Compare the schedules to see if you can fit both your schedules in. Chances are no if both of you have big families (Like PL and I *horror*) 2. Circle those which are compulsory. Eg. Elders or those families who would disown you if you don't visit them. 3. Skip those whom you are going to see on other days of CNY if the schedules are too packed. 4. Allow for travelling time, especially if you are travelling from one side to the other side of the island. 5.  After planning the schedule, seek parents for advice. Parents will always have their own quirky ways of thinking that no one can fathom. 6. N...

2nd appointment at Blue Bay Wedding Delfi Orchard

we went over to the Delfi branch at 8pm on a Sunday.  There wasn't any people instead of us. Actually, both of us felt quite bad as the two salespeople in the shop were having their dinner and we interrupted them.  Anyway, our agenda was to tell them more about our expectations of the photoshoot as well as to confirm the timing with them. we have set the date of the photoshoot as 30th april 2014, one day after we touch down from the plane. I want to take photos of the sandy beach and blue skies, while PL wants to have quirky shots, esp with the motorbikes. the salesperson, Olivia, told us to have a Plan B, and she took the time to show us the different photostyles that we might like. PL is also interested in the street style but I guess it was just alright for me. As I was hooked on the sandy beaches, Olivia told me that I can go on the Danshui-YangMingshan route as the scenery is perfect for the stuff that I want. She also recommended that I can shoot with the water lil...

Disappointing customer service from Mum's Kitchen Catering

As Mum's Kitchen Catering is one of the official caterer from Chevrons, we went to have a look at their website for their wedding catering packages. As we are not doing some fanciful ROM, we wanted to keep our costs down and get a buffet dinner for our guests. We saw this wedding menu B and thought that it was not bad.   http://www.mumskitchen.com.sg/wedding-menu-b.html We were quite happy when we saw the complimentary service provided and proceeded to call them to enquire about the menu, and the complimentary service. When we told the staff that we want to get the church wedding menu, they told us no. PL asked them the reason why as there is no difference in cost for the caterer. They gave the reason as they need one day before to set up and do the wedding theme decoration. We tried to negotiate with her, and told her that we can we can forgo the wedding decoration, and actually we only wanted to have the uniformed service staff in attendance as they can help to replenish...

Wedding: The wedding rings by Chung Hwa Jade and Jewellery

We went to shop for our wedding rings at Chung Hwa Jade and Jewellery, at Chinatown. My proposal ring was from there too! We were there on a sunday where there were lots of people at the shop, and we had to wait for the crowd to clear before we were able to make our selection. Our budget is around 700 SGD. Since I didn't like the trendy rings that everyone is sporting now, we went ahead with the traditional gold rings. We ended up choosing both rings at SGD 500. There was a workmanship fee of $6 for each ring, but no GST included. All for $500 =D I love the design of the ring, very simple and chic =) The two rings that we got at Chung Hwa Nice right?!! As PL said that he is not going to wear the ring, I'm still wondering what to do with mine. >.<

Using Himalayas Protecting Neem and Tumeric Body Wash for Back Acne!

I have been suffering from another bout of back acne recently and came across this when I was out in Malaysia with PL's family. Since it was only RM14 per bottle, I just bought one to try. After 2 days of using this, I think my back acne has improved. Will definitely monitor the progress as I don't want to be known as the back acne bride during my ROM >.< For some odd reason, I have not seen this body wash in Singapore. Is it only sold in Malaysia?

555 days since we are officially together =D

Our malacca trip before we got engaged. Dear PL was vomiting all the way back due to food poisoning at Breeks Cafe in Malacca. The two of us at Science Centre, playing with the snake. One of the rare times that I was pissed with him, for being overly friendly to girls >.< (Something that I hate a lot -.- ) When we just got together and tried to get that fact from everyone. LOL And...that's all of what I have us together @@ We really need to buck up on the 30 photos before we head off for that taiwan wedding photoshoot.

7 things to discuss before marriage (ROM)

Marriage item 1: Children Yes, we know we know. How can we not think about it when you keep shoving the issue down our throat? Even the pre-marriage course that we went through also have a segment about children. So, for those who like to know, we are thinking of 2 and 2 guys at that. So I get to tumble them down and round, and they won't bother me if the "Mummy, am I pretty?" kind of bimbo talk. Marriage item 2: Finances So far we have not been spending much, with the exception of *ermm.. more than occasional eat-outs* and his motorbike expenses. Other than that, I have been curbing my travel itch. It's a good thing that he is such a good admin-er, because I can't keep track of what I spend. I only know that I very niao and don't wanna spend much. Marriage item 3: In-laws This proves to be a huge headache. Looking at the scene that she created when he came over to my place to eat, it seems like something has to be done. Obviously, she will not tell...

Pre-marital health screening and pap smear

I'm officially broke. Just went to SBCC Women's clinic in Clementi to do pre marital Health Screening and Pap Smear. The bomb to my pocket was $545.xx The pap smear cost $40 while the health screening package is $475. The cost of the health screening package is comparable to the rest of the hospitals or clinics but it's still a bit expensive imo. The doctor took less than 1/2 hr for the blood taking. The experience: It felt damn weird. I was supposed to strip off my underwear so that he could do the pap smear and the ultrasound. I just felt damn exposed lah! @@ The probing was very very uncomfortable. And to my amusement, he used KY jelly and condom for the probe. That was one funny moment. He must have thought that I got a bit high or something. Apparently, I got to wait a few days before the results are out. And I still have to do the implant. And he said that it is best to do it during the first few days of the period. >.< Pls come soon.

ROM prep in progress

Stuff done~ - Ordered wedding favors - Got a simple dress for the ROM - Sent out the invites - confirmed the layout of the venue We are still thinking if we should do catering as bbq-ing for 200 people is close to impossible. I guess the easiest is to cater as we don't have to worry so much about it.

ROM Invites

Now that we have gotten our ROM invites out, it's a relief for me. The worse part of it is not to know how many people would be turning out for the ROM, and if we need to order additional chairs to cope with the demand. Somehow, it seems that quite a few people are gearing towards the ROM ceremony itself, but I'm hoping for an attrition rate of around 10%. Would it be too much to hope for? I'm going to send out the email invites later, since some of my friends do not use FB often. We are left with paying the money to Chevrons this Wednesday and then it will be a break till we decide to order the wedding favors.

ROM preparation

After dilly-dallying for so long, we have finally decided to sit down and compile the stuff that we need to do for the ROM preparation. Venue - Chevrons  Rental of equipment - pending Booking of Justice of Peace - Called. Pending Buying of wedding favors - pending Ordering of food - pending Invitation of guests - pending Attire - almost done. Have to double confirm with Xinyi. Guestbook for guests - Not done at all. LOL. Ang Pao Box - Not done Photographer - Not asked Wedding bands - Not bought Sound system - Do we need one? Helpers for the ROM: Photographer: ?? Overall I/C: Weiping? =P Emcee: Wendy :) Guestlist: Yuxi/??? Angbow: MJ/??? Runner: Jacqueline? Bride's helper: ??? We are erm.. less than 50% done? @@ This is crazy. 120 days.

1st Appointment: Bluebay Wedding Review

Went to the Singapore outlet on 11 August to book the MUA and PG for our April photoshoot in Taipei. Apparently, they have changed the location of the Taiwan outlet since they have merged with Penny Wu. Didn't managed to book Da Xiong as he is already booked by some other people. In the end, we settled for someone else whom I can't remember the name. Must pray hard that he is a good photographer. Service-wise, I think she was quite good. Water is promptly served when we sat down, and there was another couple who was trying out the gowns at the other side. She asked us if we have any queries after she explained to us that we have to go down to the shop again in Jan for the second appointment. She also reminded us to bring along the nu-bra, high heels, slippers for me and long sleeves for PL. But, I was quite disappointed that we can't decide on the route first in Singapore before going down. Hopefully she will go through the gowns and more information about the Taiwa...
