Pink helmet

I can't believe I forgot to blog about this but PL got me a new helmet a few days ago :) On Sunday in fact. It is a purplish-pink tranx helmet. =D and it costs like 65 bucks? And one very funny thing happened because I took his bolster and slept. He was like, "U being granted PR status doesn't mean that you have citizenship." Aptly true.

Review: 2nd time watching Hansel and Gretel

Went to watch Hansel and Gretel with PL. For him, it's the first time, and for me, it's the second. This time round, we took the front row seats, instead of the back seat that I got the previous time. I enjoyed the show tremendously, despite watching it for the second time. The view up close is definitely better. Audience wise: I felt that the preview had a better audience (they were more enthu) Cast wise: I could feel the lack of enthusiasm for this current round. (they probably got a bit tired of singing the same songs over and over again, and their voices were losing their touch.) But PL felt that their voices were still good. The children were better this time round though. They had a change of kids; the little round boy was not present this time round. AND I GOT TO EAT THE PANDAN CAKE THIS TIME ROUND! Totally did not regret taking the front seats. However, PL felt that he would have preferred a few seats down the row so that he can focus more on the big picture.

Review: Life of Pi Movie

Went to watch Life of Pi with PL on Sunday before he went for his cousin's wedding. Note: I have not read the book before I watched the movie. I was quite surprised when I heard the Indian accent in the movie. But the accent was still bearable. The CG effects were good, esp when they showed the night scenes. The story started with a failed author interviewing an Indian man in his house, and the Indian man, Piscine (Pi) narrated his story to him. Piscine was one who religiously believed in God; he was a Hindu, Christian and Muslim at the same time. One day, his family decided to leave India and went on board a ship. Ship sank, and Pi was on the lifeboat with the animals. Most importantly, a tiger. He lived together with the tiger on/near the lifeboat till one day, he finally reached shore. The story was very touching, and it was a miracle that he could stay that long on the lifeboat without dying. But... The end really struck a chord in me. Did he really lived with the

Frustrating customers

There are some irritating people out there who do not know the meaning of waiting, and demands to be served immediately. Even when the fault is clearly of the system, they like to think that they are up and above the staff who is serving them. These people are the lowest of the mankind.

Review: Saveur Restaurant with PL

Saveur is the French Restaurant at Bugis and it always has a long queue. Finally, I got to try it today with PL =) The food is really not bad and it's value for money. The soup was awesome! PL was complaining about the portion of the food but I think it was still quite alright since we are not paying too much for the food anyway. If there is really a need, can just order another one. The dessert really blew us of our seats. Cookies and milk is one of those on the special menu and after trying it, I must say that it is so much better than any other ice-creams out there. And with 2 mains, 3 starters and 1 dessert, it only cost us around 56 bucks? Cheap cheap =D

Last day of application: Ghim Moh Edge

Chances are that we will get the flat, since it is still under-subscribed =) After some persuasion, we managed to come to a conclusion of a 3-rm. It's a bit small but oh well... we can spend our money somewhere else? Sometimes I wonder if it is really too early for us to get the flat but since he doesn't mind, I guess it should be fine lah. Hopefully we will last longer than the flat. And since it's going to be TOP in 2018, I guess we still have a lot more time to go huh.

Review: Hansel and Gretel

This November, W!LD RICE presents a deliciously hilarious musical   HANSEL & GRETEL  – the 9th edition of its annual must-see Christmas pantomime. Penning the book and lyrics is Alfian Sa’at, the company’s resident playwright who, having written the highly successfully Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs (2008) and Beauty & the Beast (2009), is no stranger to the W!LD RICE panto. Another familiar name, Elaine Chan, will compose the soundtrack of original music, making this her sixth panto adventure. Dim Sum Dolly and celebrated actress, Pam Oei, makes her professional directorial debut with the production. True to W!LD tradition, the trio is set to give the Brothers Grimm fairytale a local twist, full of laugh-out-loud moments. HANSEL & GRETEL’s star-studded cast includes Sebastian Tan (Broadway Beng), Dwayne Tan (Army Daze), Denise Tan (Gold 90FM), Siti Khalijah (Boeing Boeing), Dwayne Lau (Cinderel-Lah!) and Vernetta Lopez (CLASS 95FM). Review: Europe Guesthouse, Phnom Penh and Phnom Penh in general

It was my first solo trip to Phnom Penh. Since my family and boyfriend was worried about me going to Cambodia alone, I took the easy way out and requested for airport pickup. All of them were arranged by Europe Guesthouse. It was a pretty easy trip, considering that I only stayed in Phnom Penh for 4 days. The tuk-tuk driver was waiting for me when I came out of the airport, with my name written on a piece of paper/cardboard, which I was quite grateful for (and not to mention that it felt like I was in some drama ;P) The driver, unfortunately could not speak much English, but he did try his best to talk to me. He fetched me to Europe Guesthouse for USD7, though I knew that one could have been gotten for USD5. BUT, the official rate for tuk-tuk from the airport is USD7. I don't mind paying this rate as he did wait for me and I do not have to look like some lost sheep trying to get a tuk-tuk outside the airport, which is around 500m away. The roads to the city were quite dusty b

Review: Tangled ever after

PL passed me Tangled Ever After to watch. Tangled was the Rapunzel show that came out in 2010 (I think. I watched it in the cinema) and I was looking forward to this little short clip. It is a clip of about 6 mins long, and it was the wedding scene. The dear donkey happily sneezed and lost the rings, and Pascal and Maximus took the messy way out to get the rings back. That was the whole plot and it was a short but interesting and exciting ride. Watching this, I wish they will have a proper sequel. >.<

decision

After mulling on it for so long, I have decided. 14 June. That will be the date that I will finish all the sai kang that I can possibly accumulate and zoom off to Mongolia.

kiseki buffet dinner

Went out with Nic for the Kiseki buffet at Orchard Central where I literally killed a whole population of fish. Then went to Commonwealth to meet up with PL. He showed me around the places that he used to hang out and we went to visit one of his friends, Ivan. Since we passed by his house. Then he came down and chatted with 11+ And...we ended up reaching home at 12 again, despite the vow to finish at 10.45. omg.

China (Beijing-Hohot-Wutaishan-Datong-Beijing) trip 02052012 -12052012

The first ever solo plane flight that I took. 2nd May Touched down at PEK at around 7plus, and was received by Yx and her uncle. Had a starbucks sandwich on the way to her grandma's place. The apt was a very small one, with run-down facilities. We went to 八大处with her mum and climbed up the bloody hill. That was the first hill that we encountered and we were still joking that there were lots to go. Half way up the climb, we heard this guys saying to a girl in Chinese, " You are tired? I thought you said you want to lose weight?" It was so hilarious that we climbed and LOL non-stop. We also managed to took a horse ride down the hill for 30RMB. After spending close to 4 hrs on the hill, we went back to her grandma's place for dinner and her mum prepared a chauffeur to drive us to 北京西station. It was an overnight train to Hohhot and my first experience on a sleeper train. The train conductor checked our ticket before we got onto the train and apparently it was to preve

Waiting for next driving lesson

Just ended one lesson and waiting for the next one. Finally succeeded in not stalling the car. But did something stupid. Din realize how scary it can be when I'm tired and driving a car. It really makes a whole lot of difference. Kind of regretted chatting till 2 in the morn but Overall I guess it was still gd. Calmed my insecurities somewhat. And I dun think I can do the play hard to get kinda stuff. Totally not in my nature. Work has been piling up but it just seems sian to me. Haiz. Being cooped up in an office is not my idea of fun.

Like a see-saw

没有安全感。 Now I totally get the meaning of a peaceful life. Because I currently do not have one. If only I have a emotion switch that can be turned off anytime I want to. On the other hand, I learnt that DSS is like social safety net. He's the one that I can go whining to; the one who doesn't judge what I'm doing; the one who gives me advice; the one who knows what I need more than I do. I'm eternally grateful to him, even though he probably doesn't know it. I now understand why he said the words that he said to me before. I hope I can grow up a bit more, and really find the someone that he said I would find.

out of security zone

I'm good at ignoring. but sometimes, is it better to loosen up a bit and just have some fun? I wish this is a transparent map that shows me which way I am going, before it's too late. Would any of us take the first step out, into an unknown zone? Which reminds me. I better get the mins out soon.

random thinking

If really die die also have to choose someone, I will probably choose him. After all, I think he is the only person who will think that I am incapable of spending wealth. And even though I'm capable of sending myself back home, he volunteered the cab. Of course, with all the flaws that I have seen with my own eyes.

ironic

ends up that u're the first to know it. You who inches up in my priority list, though there is not much priority to speak of. I can only wait. (which is quite stupid, imo)
