Upcoming China Trip!

I am so excited about this family trip to China! This will officially be the first family trip where my whole family is together overseas, which is really very rare. My dad hates to travel. In fact, this trip wouldn't have happened except that it's my brother's graduation and my mum insisted that the whole family should be there (and she started planning it 4 years ago) My brother would be planning the trip and I can't wait to see the highlights of the trip!!! ;D

World UNESCO Sites that I have been to before

1)       The Great Wall of China This is one place where I bet most of the people have been to. The tour agencies especially love to bring the tourists there, and the PRCs can then rip the tourists. I was lucky enough to have Yuxi’s uncle drive us to this ulu part of the Great Wall of China , and you can read the rest of it here if you are interested. 2)       Houryuji I was quite surprised to see that it is listed as one of the UNESCO sites. I wasn’t too awed by this place, besides the fact that the deers keep asking for more senbei from me. 3)       Mount Wu Tai After watching all the weird Chinese Kungfu dramas, I was quite happy to go to Mount Wu Tai. It is a Buddhist place where many devotees go to pray. I uh.. didn’t pray much except when we are doing the turns around the mountain in the car. The taxi driver could have won the F1 race if he had competed. Vegetarian food there is in abun...

China (Beijing-Hohot-Wutaishan-Datong-Beijing) trip 02052012 -12052012

The first ever solo plane flight that I took. 2nd May Touched down at PEK at around 7plus, and was received by Yx and her uncle. Had a starbucks sandwich on the way to her grandma's place. The apt was a very small one, with run-down facilities. We went to 八大处with her mum and climbed up the bloody hill. That was the first hill that we encountered and we were still joking that there were lots to go. Half way up the climb, we heard this guys saying to a girl in Chinese, " You are tired? I thought you said you want to lose weight?" It was so hilarious that we climbed and LOL non-stop. We also managed to took a horse ride down the hill for 30RMB. After spending close to 4 hrs on the hill, we went back to her grandma's place for dinner and her mum prepared a chauffeur to drive us to 北京西station. It was an overnight train to Hohhot and my first experience on a sleeper train. The train conductor checked our ticket before we got onto the train and apparently it was to preve...
