As Mum's Kitchen Catering is one of the official caterer from Chevrons, we went to have a look at their website for their wedding catering packages. As we are not doing some fanciful ROM, we wanted to keep our costs down and get a buffet dinner for our guests. We saw this wedding menu B and thought that it was not bad. http://www.mumskitchen.com.sg/wedding-menu-b.html
We were quite happy when we saw the complimentary service provided and proceeded to call them to enquire about the menu, and the complimentary service.
When we told the staff that we want to get the church wedding menu, they told us no. PL asked them the reason why as there is no difference in cost for the caterer. They gave the reason as they need one day before to set up and do the wedding theme decoration. We tried to negotiate with her, and told her that we can we can forgo the wedding decoration, and actually we only wanted to have the uniformed service staff in attendance as they can help to replenish the food and drinks. Then the staff told us that they can't give it to us because of the STAR POINT. We told her we can forgo that as we don't even know what is their reward system. They still said no because the venue is not a church.
The best thing is, they do not even have any reference for wedding menus except for church weddings! She told us that we would have to customise our own wedding menu and there will be no complimentary for the booking, even though we are ordering for 150pax.
What I am very unhappy about is that the company seems to discriminate Non-Christians. I am aware that the menu is for church weddings, but there are no other choices for us besides customising our wedding catering. However, our reception dinner is almost the same as a church wedding! The only difference is that we are not holding it in a church. So why can't they do it for us?
Disclaimer: This post is not against Christians, but rather the Company's policy as a whole. I am not trying to stir up any discord between Christians and Non-Christians but I hope that this information is valuable for people who are getting a wedding catering from them that this problem exists.
