Valentine's day in JB - trip expenses

Had a slight unhappiness due to the untimely clothes washing on Friday but it was all gone after PL brought me to see the crabs at Sheng Shiong. Slept over at his place before we headed out on Valentine's day. We were supposed to head out at 9.30am but due to me lazing around, we only managed to head out at almost 11am and rejected his mum's request to send her down to Ave 2 (which was just a 5 mins walk away!) We had a cheap and simple lunch (wanton mee and roasted pork) at the coffeeshop across KSL. It was mediocre at best. I wanted my char kway tiao but the stall wasn't opened. After that, we went to buy our movie tickets (The Kingsman and The Wedding Ringer). The Wedding Ringer was awesomely funny and even though I was watching it for the second time, I didn't feel tired of the movie. Then it was off to the Dim Sum stall diagonally behind the closed Shell Station at Taman Sri Tebrau where we had 5 types of Dim Sum (average) before watching The Kingsman. MBO scr...

Cavalia Singapore

I'm excited to watch the show! *Muacks* to PL who bought the tickets despite me stating that it's too expensive and it's going to be my early birthday present :) And there is going to be an exclusive tour around the stables too!! =D I will definitely try to take more pictures since it is such a rare occasion.

Happy V-day!

Thank you PL for organising such a wonderful night, and I really enjoyed myself. According to him, it was his first time giving a bouquet of flower bear or what you call it to a girl (I seriously have no idea what he gave his ex, and anyway, her loss is my profit [and happiness?]) and I'm not going to grumble about him spending money on it because it's probably going to be one in a lifetime kinda thing. He said he got it for me because I have not celebrated Valentine's Day before~ :D So our plan was like this: Eat dinner at Tiong Bahru's Eighteen Chefs Watch Wolf of Wall Street at Vivocity at 8.40pm. I guess it's a very typical V-day celebration but I am very touched. ^^ He just reminded me of this song~

The conclusion of two days of running about for CNY

*Phew* It was hard work, entertaining all the relatives and friends. This year is the first time that we both felt the full force of both families' schedules, and it was quite tiring. It was quite interesting to meet someone who has the same name as me in PL's family, where his nephew's girlfriend is also called Jieyi. I was super confused everytime one of his relatives call Jieyi, because I'm not sure if they are calling me. We also went to visit one of his mum's friend's daughter housewarming party at Woodlands. They got their flat at 270k for a four room flat, which is still cheaper than our 3room flat!! PL commented that he wants to move to Woodlands instead, and I told him if that is the case, I want to have an Executive Mansionette. I'm just so glad we are (almost) done with everything and I can just stay home and nua~

How to decide on the itinerary on CNY for new couples/newlyweds

Chinese New Year is a time where you have to visit multiple families. When the couple has to visit both sides of the family on the limited two days that are public holidays, it really needs some planning. If not, be prepared for some quarrels. 1. Do up a schedule of how you and your partner usually spend your 1st and 2nd day of CNY, preferably a week before CNY itself. 2. Compare the schedules to see if you can fit both your schedules in. Chances are no if both of you have big families (Like PL and I *horror*) 2. Circle those which are compulsory. Eg. Elders or those families who would disown you if you don't visit them. 3. Skip those whom you are going to see on other days of CNY if the schedules are too packed. 4. Allow for travelling time, especially if you are travelling from one side to the other side of the island. 5.  After planning the schedule, seek parents for advice. Parents will always have their own quirky ways of thinking that no one can fathom. 6. N...

CNY healthy Yusheng!

This is probably a year late but I thought that a fruit yusheng is healthy! You see the white long strips of stuff? They are pear slices!! It was my first time eating this kind of fruit yusheng and it tastes super good! Unlike the usual yusheng that has all those radish bits with all that syrup on it. EWW... This was awesome! And without the honey, and whatever stuff, it is yummy enough. Of course, if you want to indulge yourself with more sweet stuff, you can add them in. *tip* soak them lightly in salt water. Or if you are going to rinse them with honey anyway, soak them in a mixture of honey and water :)

Birthday - A Quarter of a Century Old with Psychometric test for DXO position in the mix

It's a memorable birthday - The first birthday that I spent with my SO. Last year, I booked a solo trip to Cambodia so the idea was moot. I didn't expect us to last long then. He was super sweet, taking off to accompany me. I had a psychometric test at DTTB (on my birthday!) and he came to fetch me after that. The test was pretty interesting. It took around 3 hours for me to finish the whole thing. And there were around 20 applicants taking it at the same time. They all applied for different positions. The first was a verbal reasoning test, which tests on your comprehension of the passage. The second one was a patterns test, which is something like the P3 GP test. The third one was a personality test. Only the first two were timed. We went off to Malaysia after that, to celebrate my birthday. Lunched at Manhatten Fish Market. Then off to pump fuel and came back to SG. Went over to Adeline's place to visit her. Then after that, went over to Orchard to look for...
