Bad experience at Fitness First Singapore for membership transfer

Recently, as I have been busy, I wanted to transfer my membership to someone else. Naturally, I called up Fitness First to check if I can transfer the membership and they told me that as long as they are willing to pay the transfer fee of 98 bucks and the remaining months of the membership, I am able to do the transfer. It sounds alright, correct? Then, when I attempted to transfer the membership, problems started to arise. Initially, the staff at Market Street Fitness First told me that yes, I can do the transfer(and that is after calling them multiple times as none of the staff can actually confirm it. They just told me to wait for their return calls which never ever happens.) Then after that, when I called for a last time to confirm when I wanted to make my way down, they suddenly told me that because I am on a term membership, they are unable to let me transfer my membership. (And I had already made arrangements with the person that will be taking over my membership) That w...

Hot Flow Yoga at Fitness First Market Place by Christine

This is my first time doing hot flow yoga! In a heated room, we were supposed to do all the usual yoga poses. I had only attended a few yoga classes before this, and I felt that it was tough =( The heat has nothing to do with it. I think some days, Singapore feels hotter than the temperature in the room. haha. I think most of the people in the class are very pro (as in super flexible). I wanted to die liao when she started on the more difficult moves, and I couldn't even hold some of the poses at all. (And there I was thinking that I am actually quite fit.) Christine is quite a good teacher, and her instruction is very clear even to a noob like me. She saw that there were a few new people in the class and did something simple today, which is super heng for me. If not, I might just collapse on the floor. It's more suited for intermediate to advanced people I feel :)

Sh'bam Class by Pao Pao at Westgate Fitness First

Last week, I went to Sh'bam class with Constance instructed by Pao Pao. I really enjoyed myself! Pao Pao gave very good and concise instructions to the extent that I actually managed to catch the moves even though I am a very uncoordinated person! However, take note that Westgate classes are always so full of people that you have to queue up around 40mins ahead of class, which sucks when you have to rush from work. PL kept asking me

Sh'bam class at Fitness First

I went for my first Sh'bam class yesterday. I thought I saw Joseph but I might be mistaken. But anyway, back to Sh'bam.. I have no idea what it was all about actually. Basically what we do in class is to follow the instructor's moves and follow. The class I attended at market street was taught by Naila and I think she is pretty chirpy and hip for an instructor. Even though I can't catch all of the moves, I will go back for next week's class. For those who wanna know how shiong the lesson is, I give it 2/5. I don't think it burns more calories than running on the treadmill. Or yoga.

Review: Fitness First @ Market Street

June and I went for a trial for fitness first. I need to get back in shape! I heard from my colleagues and friends that fitness first is quite good and they don't hard sell, which is good for me. I made an appointment with Edwin, who is my consultant at 6.30pm. When we reached, we were supposed to fill in a register and it was when he suggested us to try out a power yoga class which was going to start at 6.40pm. He brought us up to the second level and we exchanged for our workout attire. The changing room is quite big, and we don't have to squeeze even though it was after working hours. There were not too many people aka wasn't crowded. I'm super glad because I hate squeezing with people. The yoga class only have 9 of us including us, and once the lesson started, I think I know why. Cuz the trainer pushes us hard! My neck and a bit of my body is aching today due to the yoga. After the class, I went to shower. The place has separate shampoo for hair and body, wh...
