Horse riding in Johor (Amigos horse riding)

I have not went horse riding for close to two years, after working in People's Association. Yesterday, PL just reminded me that I could take up horse riding again since I will be working office hours again. I'm actually quite reluctant to take it up again, despite the fun times that I had. I guess having more couple time is better than travelling all the way down to Pasir Gudang. But for those who are interested, it is actually very fun albeit tiring. (and a teeny wee expensive >.<) You should email Mos before you go as he might have appointments already. His weekends are always very packed, but weekdays definitely quite free:) His email address is  mousouloo@gmail.com. Mos is a super nice guy, and he even drove us out for lunch/dinner when we went there for horse-riding. I used to ride Shiba and Soheil alot (I think) When I last went there, Chili was a newcomer and we won't allowed to ride him as he was not broken in yet. I was just reading a n

Review: Hunger Games - Catching Fire

PL and I went to catch Hunger Games - Catching fire in JB, KSL City (MBO). Ticket price is 14RM each. It's cheap! And the seat arm can be taken up, so that we can sit closer to each other =P I had already watched the first movie, and read the book a few times, so I knew what to expect, but PL, who has not watched nor read it, was quite ok with the movie, so I guess it is not too bad. It is really for Hunger Games fans (or Battle Royale) because the concept is very similar. There was not as much bloodshed, but Mags dying really got me weeping. The 2hr plus movie is a breeze to sit through, and I was not ready to leave the seat despite the ending of the show (even though I needed to piss badly). The ending of the show was just to abrupt for me to accept it. How can that be the ending?!!! Come on! Get the next one out quick!! P.S: I think Katniss looks fatter in this movie than the previous one. She probably got fat sitting in the Victors' village and co

Review: Wey Wey Live Seafood Batam

Wey Wey Live Seafood in Batam was introduced to us by Eska Wellness and Spa person, and they actually gave us a free ride there after our massage. The food there was cheap and delicious. We ordered too much till we couldn't really finish. We went for a weekday trip, which was why there are not many people there! I heard that on weekends, it is always very crowded. The Gong Gong, which is a delicacy in Batam. It is sold almost everywhere! We really had to use skills to eat these you know. Drunken prawns, which is what the waiter recommended. It was damn awesomely yummy~ The super hot curry that I couldn't really take. Salted egg crab, which was not that nice since it was too dry. I still prefer the Malaysia/Singapore version. The Dou Miao is good! We wanted to order more but our stomach protested against the excessive food. The unglam photo of us eating~ The fried prawns is damn damn good. I think we fought for the last of it. HAHA.

Teo Heng KTV - Junction 10

Went there on Monday with Novelle and Jiahao to sing K. We managed to book the small room on a weekday from 1pm- 7pm for $32!!! 6 hours leh! How cheap can they get?!! The best part of it is that we can sing and there is this program where they will rate your singing. Damn good. We only found out that we can choose a lot of songs, and it's not under the PK Singing. It's under Score Songs. The room is small but cosy. Definitely can fit up to 4 pple. There are musical instruments but I find them very very noisy. *dislike* Good thing is that we can bring our own food and drinks in. We save a lot!! Many of the people who came in with us are students, and like us, they were carrying super a lot of snacks. I am flabbergasted because I can't sing when I'm eating. How come they can?!!! I definitely have to make another trip down before I start work at the new place. But very inconviently, the LRT stops working in the middle of the day and they only resume their ser

7 things to discuss before marriage (ROM)

Marriage item 1: Children Yes, we know we know. How can we not think about it when you keep shoving the issue down our throat? Even the pre-marriage course that we went through also have a segment about children. So, for those who like to know, we are thinking of 2 and 2 guys at that. So I get to tumble them down and round, and they won't bother me if the "Mummy, am I pretty?" kind of bimbo talk. Marriage item 2: Finances So far we have not been spending much, with the exception of *ermm.. more than occasional eat-outs* and his motorbike expenses. Other than that, I have been curbing my travel itch. It's a good thing that he is such a good admin-er, because I can't keep track of what I spend. I only know that I very niao and don't wanna spend much. Marriage item 3: In-laws This proves to be a huge headache. Looking at the scene that she created when he came over to my place to eat, it seems like something has to be done. Obviously, she will not tell

A glimpse of North Korea from South Korea

We were feeling very jittery when we went for the tour as North Korea had just stopped the South Koreans from working in North Korea when we were there. We were watching the news anxiously and praying hard that the tour would not be cancelled. Luckily for us, we managed to catch a few glimpse of this little known place. This was the place that South and North Korea meets. The three guys standing over there are the South Koreans, but we didn't see the triangle formation of the North Koreans though. The guide told us that they sometimes disappear to dunno-where. Maybe for lunch? =P I wanted to take a better picture with this guy but he looks so fierce~ >.< Apparently we can't even touch him as the guide shooed me away once I took this picture. And I nearly stumbled into him in the process since I wasn't looking at where I was going. We had a non-meat lunch. Probably because I don't eat meat, then Yuxi also ate bibimbap with me. The food was not too bad

First trip to Sea Aquarium at Sentosa

Our super duper long awaited trip. This was also the first time that we saw Jeremy's gf. The trip was so awesome despite the fact that we had to go separate ways after that as PL and I had booked tickets to watch Adams Family. The last photo that we took with Jeremy before he was hospitalised. We must really thank our lucky stars that Jeremy is still well and alive today. And he could finally walked downstairs to get his own food and snacks. Hopefully he would be well enough to help out in my ROM =D Despite saying that we will go there another day to have a private date there, we have not done so. And I heard that it is always very very crowded on weekends. And we got SABO-ed! I swear, we were not making out. LOL. But this is hilarious! And I wanted to eat this stingray!! Yummy!! Another group photo. I think this was at the entrance. And I was wowed by the fishes. =D

A walk at the Hort Park

It was a precious weekend off, and PL graciously agreed to go walking with me in the Hort Park =D I was feeling a little fat, so I thought I should walk all the fats off. So, he rode us all the way to erm..some area of Hort Park and I saw that we can walk all the way to NACLI and NUS Kent Ridge Park!~ I was intrigued with the idea of walking to Kent Ridge Park so we went along that path. Along the way, there were 2 Singa Lions, and we took picture with one of them. Dadadadeng~ PL looks super hyper here. And he even took out the umbrella so that I can be sheltered on the sun. So sweet of him right?~ =D

Review: Bliss Hotel, JB

Omg, I didn't realise that I didn't review about Bliss till I was looking for it in my blog posts. Yes, I do reread my own blog at times. Which is good because I tend to have STM. Bliss Hotel is a uniquely designed hotel in JB, near to KSL and Sri Tebrau. I love this area (but not Pelangi Plaza which was a 3 minute walk away) and the rooms are so pretty! Very pretty right? We stayed in the orange one when we were there. This exact same room. All the rooms are designed differently, when we went to poke around. This hotel is actually converted from shophouses so there are quite a few stairs leading to everywhere. The rooms are all quite small though, but it is enough if you are not bring your whole wardrobe along. We watched horror movies inside the room as they have the LCD screen. Very awesome. The breakfast was a little limited as there are not many guests, but it was ok in PL's opinion. For me, I thought that there was a lack of choice, but they have

Pre-marital health screening and pap smear

I'm officially broke. Just went to SBCC Women's clinic in Clementi to do pre marital Health Screening and Pap Smear. The bomb to my pocket was $545.xx The pap smear cost $40 while the health screening package is $475. The cost of the health screening package is comparable to the rest of the hospitals or clinics but it's still a bit expensive imo. The doctor took less than 1/2 hr for the blood taking. The experience: It felt damn weird. I was supposed to strip off my underwear so that he could do the pap smear and the ultrasound. I just felt damn exposed lah! @@ The probing was very very uncomfortable. And to my amusement, he used KY jelly and condom for the probe. That was one funny moment. He must have thought that I got a bit high or something. Apparently, I got to wait a few days before the results are out. And I still have to do the implant. And he said that it is best to do it during the first few days of the period. >.< Pls come soon.

ROM prep in progress

Stuff done~ - Ordered wedding favors - Got a simple dress for the ROM - Sent out the invites - confirmed the layout of the venue We are still thinking if we should do catering as bbq-ing for 200 people is close to impossible. I guess the easiest is to cater as we don't have to worry so much about it.

Game Review: Killing Floor

It has been a long time since I played this game. I think the first time was with Nic when we went out for some Lan gaming. This time, it was with PL and Constance, and it was so impromptu that everyone got caught unaware. It's a standard first person shooting gameplay in some sense, except that after every wave of zombies, you are allowed to buy weapons and reload your ammo with the trader. And the trader's position changes every time and you need to get as close to the trader as possible in order to have ample time to choose. I love this game as I like purchasing stuff. However, the novelty wears off after you have played for a while. The slow-motion effects are quite irritating as you might get caught off-guard when you are reloading the weapon. I swear by my camping skills, and this game is not bad for campers as there are always places for you to camp. Playing with a bunch of friends is the best as you are familiar with your friends' fighting style. Damn awesom

Review: Recruitment agencies in Singapore

Since I have been doing quite a bit of job hunting these days, I figured I should put up some reviews about the recruitment agencies that I have used in the past few years. As I have some Japanese background, I try to use the Japanese recruitment agencies as I feel that they are more professional. So far with the Japanese companies that I use, they will definitely call you down for an internal interview where they try to recommend jobs for you after they have asked about (almost all your life). I would rate JAC recruitment as the best, followed by Pasona. I have not been to RGF HR agent yet but so far they have been quite nice. I have met some of the nicer recruiters where they actually called to inform that I was not shortlisted. It was a very admirable thing to do as they are not obliged to do so. For that, I would give JAC recruitment a big thumbs up. The lead time of the job search for me was around 1 month (same for both times) It was just unfortunate that I didn't take up

ROM Invites

Now that we have gotten our ROM invites out, it's a relief for me. The worse part of it is not to know how many people would be turning out for the ROM, and if we need to order additional chairs to cope with the demand. Somehow, it seems that quite a few people are gearing towards the ROM ceremony itself, but I'm hoping for an attrition rate of around 10%. Would it be too much to hope for? I'm going to send out the email invites later, since some of my friends do not use FB often. We are left with paying the money to Chevrons this Wednesday and then it will be a break till we decide to order the wedding favors.

Review: The Croods (2013)

Set in prehistoric times, Grug is the over-protective patriarch of a tiny Neanderthal clan who insists they stay huddled together in their cave, so they don't risk being eaten alive by wild animals outside. However, his rebellious teenage daughter Eep is desperate to explore the world, and she finally gets her chance when the family is forced to abandon their home in the wake of a deadly earthquake. Their guide is a fearless young man named Guy who has discovered this cool new thing called "fire" as they set out to find a new home. The theme - Fearing to change is a bad thing - is reinforced throughout the whole movie. Everything that Grug did was bad, as he wanted to continue hi old way of life, which is to hide out in caves. Yet, the rest of the family embraced the change that came along the way, and they thrived with it. Despite the theme being written all over the movie, the movie plot itself is commendable. There are many light-hearted moments where simplicity gl

Review: Bugis Halloween 1 November 2013

Somehow, I managed to procure 2 tickets for PL and I to attend the Bugis Halloween. It is organised jointly by NYP, Bugis Street and some company. The trail will start at 11pm and end at 2am. A quick google search showed that the ticket price is $36, excluding the sistics fee. PL and I were there at around 10pm, since we need to get the tickets from our friend. We went to get Gong Cha before waiting at the entrance to chat. Thus, we managed to get in early. We were the second batch to be ushered in, and completed it within 15 mins. There was goodie bags awaiting us at the exit too. I guess we were one of the rare ones who didn't scream throughout the trail. The couple in front of us screamed like shit, and the group of girls behind us also screamed till I nearly went deaf. The trail was not too bad, but there were too much light for it to be scary. The guy who was following behind us made us have a sense of security too. Maybe a darker place would help. The make up was g
