Review: Spooktacular @ Fort Siloso (19/10/2013)

PL and I went for our first and last single's night event.
We were slightly late for the event, as we rushed through a lot of stuff before going to Vivo.

The $35 ticket was a very good deal. Dinner was included and the spread was not bad. The games were a bit of a clique and everyone was not very comfortable with one another. But the emcee really did put in effort to make the participants talk to one another. The crowd was a little too big though.

For the Spooktacular, the queue was crazy. A quick chat with the entrance staff revealed that the night's ticket was sold out. @@ Even the express pass were out. We were the last few who managed to get it.
$26.60 for the fast pass.

I would say that the fast pass is worth it. We managed to go for all 5 trails even though we started at around 9pm. 2 hours for the fast pass to finish all 5. I would think that it's better than trying to queue in the normal pass lane.

My legs were already aching by the time we finished the trails. I can't imagine how the others felt. argh.

The fear factor is higher than the USS halloween that we went last year. The fort Siloso site is a good place to hold it as it is naturally quite scary in its own right.

The strobe lights were a bit over done. I could feel the after effects of it. It was crazy. But it was a really good job done. I would seriously recommend people to go for it. Just be prepared for the long queues. Luckily we got the fast pass or PL would have really been pissed with me. =P

Review: NUR1113 (Active Ageing in Singapore)

Apparently this is a year one nursing module. This is another module which is highly bidded for, and a relatively easy module. Lectures can be skipped, as long as you read the lecture slides on your own. All the information had been pasted into the slides, rendering the lecture useless. The lecturer usually just reads from the slides. Tutorials are easy. Nothing much to prepare, and basically, they are logic questions. I remember doing a powerpoint presentation for this module. We also did random experiments in tutorials. However, one thing not good about being the minority in a close-knitted faculty means that you can't really interact with the rest of the module mates. They all have a similar timetable, meaning that you have to suit their timing. Something to consider if you are taking language modules huh.

Review: Learning spanish with Wlingua Spanish

It has already been a dream of mine to learn Spanish but due to the astronomical cost involved in picking up Spanish at a language school ( I was looking at las lilas school ), I gave up. So, while I was randomly surfing the net, I came across this app, Wlingua Spanish , which has a 7 days free premium trial and it seems to have quite good reviews on google play. As such, I downloaded the app and started using it. What can I say, it's awesome! I don't know how the basic plan looks like since I am still on my premium trial, but the layout of the course is really pretty good. According to the app, it covers up to B1 of the Spanish course, which equates to around 3 years of study in a language school. That's more than good enough for beginners like us. Wanted to do this earlier but I have been sooo busy. This diploma consists of 6 modules. Sh'bam Class by Pao Pao at Westgate Fitness First

Last week, I went to Sh'bam class with Constance instructed by Pao Pao. I really enjoyed myself! Pao Pao gave very good and concise instructions to the extent that I actually managed to catch the moves even though I am a very uncoordinated person! Chupitos at Clarke Quay for birthday celebration

It was my first time at Chupitos despite hearing a lot of good things about it. So, on a Friday night at around 8pm, we headed over there to make our friend drunk. The shots were quite quirky and interesting, with all the local names added into the lists. We had a blasted time as the guys were drowning the shots. They ordered paddle pop, milo godzilla, fire bomb, condom and a bunch of other stuff that I don't remember. I only remembered that the bill came up to 200+ for not too many drinks so it was a tad too expensive for my taste. It seems like it is a good place to go to for a hen's night as there was one party going on later in the evening where the female has to drink from a fake penis. Quite a cool concept.
