Revolving stars

I am so excited about this family trip to China! This will officially be the first family trip where my whole family is together overseas, which is really very rare. My dad hates to travel. In fact, this trip wouldn't have happened except that it's my brother's graduation and my mum insisted that the whole family should be there (and she started planning it 4 years ago) My brother would be planning the trip and I can't wait to see the highlights of the trip!!! ;D

Recently, I went to take the grade 5 music theory exam. It was unnerving, especially I made the decision to take the exam quite last minute and had to do a crash course (twice a week) less than 4 weeks before the exam. I just got my results and to my surprise, I got 85, and that's a merit! With this boost of confidence, I'm going to try for Grade 3 practical next year, and hopefully I will pass it too :D

Realised that it has been a pretty long while since I have updated about my piano lessons. Yes, I'm still continuing my weekly lessons at West Coast area, with some absenteeism here and there. Obviously, I'm not progressing as much as I should, seeing how I do skip practice *ahem* pretty often. However, I really can see a definite improvement in playing, especially when I return back to the old pieces that I played a while ago. Now that I'm at grade 3 lessons, I can pick up grade 1-2 pieces pretty quickly (depending on the length and difficulty of the pieces - I'm still pretty bad at the ornaments). Currently, I'm doing Fur Elise and Spinning Song, together with Long Long ago from the Piano Pieces for children (green colour book). I quite like this book as there are many pieces where I can recognise the songs, which helps in my playing. After waiting for ten million years, we finally got our keys! :D Since we had waited so long, we kind of sneaked into the house even before we did the rolling of pineapple and what not tomorrow later. Never knew that home renovation is such a tedious thing. All those time spent on contractors, IDs, etc..@@ Hearing the stories about how couples quarreled like mad during the renovation period, I'm glad we are not one of those (or maybe not yet). The only grumble that PL has for now is that the house is too small, but I think I'm perfectly fine with it. Smaller house equates to lesser cleaning, which is good for everyone!

I wondered if I did the right thing. Staring helplessly at the sight before me, I kind of understood the rationale behind it. Not too long ago, I explored the same thoughts. Just that I didn't push through it in the end. Would I? With a guilty heart,I admit I might have just done the same thing.

JH, Carmen, PL and I went for a short batam trip in July 2016. While surfing the net, I came across this spa and massage place, Spa Central Batam , on tripadvisor that is supposed to be good. Since we are suckers for massages, we decided to give it a try. I sent a whatsapp message to the number given on the website in the middle of the night as it was a very last minute decision and they replied really fast in the late morning. Thumbs up for their service. Similarly, when we reached the batam centre terminal, even though we had choppy wifi, we managed to make contact with the contact person for them to bring us to the massage place.
